The activities and activities of the Ramadan cultural program were launched in the heart of Sharjah, organized by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, on Thursday. Also, the activation program continues to spread to the central and eastern regions, through the role and efforts of the Institute’s branches.
Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, said: “The activation of the heritage area in the heart of Sharjah and the rest of the emirate’s regions came during the holy month of Ramadan, based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to revive these areas and enhance their presence among the tourist sites. And the most visited entertainment, by organizing many Ramadan events that revive in the hearts of visitors the memories of the holy month.”
A special post for the communities
For her part, Aisha Ghabish, Director of Events and Activities Department at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, explained that the participation of the communities is distinctive and purposeful, which will be from 16-21 April, including a participation from Saudi Arabia in the Saudi tent containing folk costumes, hospitality, the popular market, Participation from the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Egyptian Heritage Market, which contains textiles, tents, ceramics, pottery collectibles, copper collectibles, and a number of specialists from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Egypt participate in this event, where 5 people from each country participate in traditional games dressed as every country.
Ramadan Cultural Council
Dr. Mona Bounaama, Director of Content and Publication at the Sharjah Heritage Institute, said: “The Ramadan Cultural Council this year celebrates the Emirati folklore, traditions and Ramadan rituals. The Emirati folk memory is full of stories and tales about Ramadan and its beautiful rituals, and we will present many of them through a number of valuable lectures for researchers. To recall a group of traditional topics, rituals and traditions that accompanied the holy month, in addition to other rich and diverse topics, and the releases of the institute’s latest publications.
